Invitation and Call for Abstracts

Dear Colleagues,

the next IBRO International Workshop will be held in Pécs, Hungary between January 21−23, 2010. The meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Physiology of the Medical School, University of Pécs. As president and general secretary of the Organizing and Program Committee it is our pleasure to invite you to this traditionally very popular and lively meeting, which covers broad areas of basic and clinical neuroscience from the molecular to the cognitive level.

Since the publication of our Call for Symposium Proposals in March 2009, the organizers have compiled a rich and exciting scientific program for the Workshop, which now boasts 4 world-renowned plenary lecturers and 6 specialist symposia with talks given by an international faculty of speakers. In addition, there will be a Festschrift symposium in the honor of the 60th Birthday of Professors György Buzsáki and Péter Somogyi held as pre-congress satellite on the day preceding the Workshop. The meeting is open for poster contributions from all areas of neuroscience and from all countries. We are expecting between 300 and 400 posters, which will be presented in two sessions. You can now register as a participant and submit your abstract online through our web page. Early bird registration will close November 15, 2009 while abstracts can be submitted until December 28, 2009.

It is our definite hope that the IBRO International Workshop 2010 will be an excellent opportunity for colleagues from various countries of Europe and other parts of the world to present their recent work, to share ideas and to socialize. We are also sure that the city of Pécs, which will be Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010, will offer an attractive location and we will have a meeting well worth remembering. Finally, we would appreciate it if you could extend our invitation to potentially interested colleagues.
