Dear Colleagues,
the next IBRO International Workshop in the series supported by the Hungarian Neuroscience Society will be held in Pécs, Hungary between January 21−23, 2010. The meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Physiology of the Medical School, University of Pécs.
As president and general secretary of the Organizing and Program Committee it is our pleasure to invite you to this traditionally very popular and lively meeting, which covers broad areas of neuroscience from the molecular to the cognitive level. It is our definite hope that the IBRO International Workshop will be an excellent opportunity for colleagues from various countries of Europe and other parts of the world to present their recent work, to share ideas and to socialize. We are also sure that the city of Pécs, which will be Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010, will offer an attractive location and we will have a meeting well worth remembering.
The Organizing and Program Committee has been busy to draw up the framework of the scientific program. We are planning to keep the traditional format of 2 and a half days including 4-5 high-profile plenary lectures, 5 symposium slots and mid-day poster sessions.
Hereby, we are inviting you to submit proposals for symposia.
We are expecting 4 to 6 speakers from all over the world in each 2-hour long symposium. If you are planning to organize a symposium, please, fill in the details in the Symposium Proposal Form (downloadable from here or available by e-mail) and return it to the e-mail addresses below by March 31, 2009. We are also encouraging you to set up an international group of symposium organizers in order to extend the scope of the meeting.
The Program Committee will rank proposals according to the following criteria:
– Financial support available for the speakers travel and accommodation expenses.
– Recent scientific achievements of the speakers.
– International mix of speakers and symposium organizers.
When selecting symposia, the Committee will try to ensure that the final program of the Workshop covers a broad range of neuroscience topics. The Committee may approve more than 5 proposals, in which case we will be able to accommodate parallel sessions.
Of course, symposium organizers are responsible for making sure that the proposed speakers agree to give a presentation at the planned symposium. We expect to contact the organizers of symposia about the Committee’s decision in May 2009.
We hope to receive many exciting symposium proposals, and to see you in Pécs at the IBRO International Workshop 2010!
With the best wishes,
Yours sincerely
